56th Annual June Art Exhibit: 

The Wassenberg Art Center’s 56th Annual June Art Exhibit, a juried, regional/national art exhibition will open June 9 and run through June 29. Located 30 minutes west of Fort Wayne in Van Wert, this juried exhibit will feature art from primarily regional, professional and amateur artists with most works being available for purchase. These artists are from many counties in northwest Ohio and northeast Indiana such as Van Wert, Paulding, Allen, Mercer, Defiance, Williams, Allen, Lucas and Stueben Counties along with other states such as New York and Colorado. The quality of the work is suitable for both enthusiasts and serious collectors. Wassenberg Art Center awards over $3000 in total  prize money.

Jurors are Mille Guldbeck, professor of painting at Bowling Green State University and Deb Washler Jackson, Executive Director of ArtLink in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

A public, opening reception will be held on June 9, 6–8 p.m. Artist awards will be presented at 7 p.m. A pulled pork barbeque, craft beer and wine tasting will be served. In addition live music will be provided by, Ohio’s Reese Dailey Band. RDB is made up of Dailey, drummer Chuck Mauk, bass Dan Langguth and rhythm/lead guitarist/vocalist Mike Cleveland and together make up a pivotal group of American musician. Reese Dailey Band is Lake Erie’s Put-in-Bay favorite and commands any stage throughout Ohio and beyond. The band’s combined work includes openings for national acts, solo concerts and a couple members have provided music for movies and television. The band’s first CD was released July 2011, (Olympia Records).
